Alternate Bicycle Route into Thompson Falls from Hwy 471 aka Thompson Pass Road
If you are riding bicycles into Thompson Falls by way of Thompson Pass, we highly recommend taking this alternate route into town.
About a mile before Highway 200, take a right at Cherry Creek Road, cross the small bridge and then take a left on Iff Road. Ride Iff Rd to the High Bridge, over the Island and then the Gallatin Bridge and you will find yourself in town.
If you are a guest at the Falls Motel, we’re ½ block from the Gallatin Bridge.
Why go this way? You will miss the treacherous west end bridge which doesn’t have a shoulder but it does have lots of cars and trucks driving fast over it.
The High Bridge, Island Park and the Gallatin Bridge also offer great views to be enjoyed as you cruise into town.
This alternate route is all paved, except the small distance across the island. The island is very well compacted.
We are a great motel for bicyclists.
- We're in town, walking distance to restaurants, casinos and bars.
- We offer a drying rack in case you want to wash your bike clothes to ready for the next day.
- New mattresses to rest your road weary self.
